Anja and Hartmut welcome you in their well located home in Recklinghausen.
Within 5 minutes you will reach the countryside ...BUT of course the football stadiums are within easy reach, Dortmund and Schalke, Bochum and Duisburg in 30 Minutes, Fortuna Düsseldorf or Bayer Leverkusen, Mönchengladbach or Cologne within 1.5 hour.
The exhibitions of Essen and Düsseldorf are within easy reach, the train will take you to the main station (Hauptbahnhof) and the sub will take you to the exhibitions ground.

You will stay in a first floor apartment with a spacious living room, two bedrooms with doube beds + cot, a well equiped kitchen and a bathroom with bathtub und shower.
The living room contains a cosy corner with two big sofas and a bar with a Dartboard, see the pictures.
If darting should be too boaring, watch movies on the big screen with the bluray player, we have a variety of movies, let us know when you are interested.

Football in the Ruhrgebiet is a religion, Schalke & Dortmund are the biggest Clubs in Germany with a crowd of 65.000 and 81.000 people.
Problem: to get tickets...but if you let me know in advance I will do my best
The Stadium with the 1. Divsion atmosphere but playing in Division 2 is Bochum, therefor
tickets are mostly available.
What is better than having a beer in the right and a Bratwurst in a roll in the left, standing in a crowd and watching the football on a Saturday afternoon ;-) ??
So if you are interested in watching Bochum play let me know and we have a beer there together.

Recklinghausen is not the biggest city but it has it's own character. The city was founded in the 13th century, burned down several times but was always born new.
Today modern buildings and old buildings stay together in harmony, it's worth a walk.
We have very nice pubs, "Drübbelken", "Boente" and "Der alte Recklinghäuser" should be mentioned here.
Very dangerous because the beer tasts very nice and most pubs are open until 1:00, at the weekends longer.
You will also find a variety of good restaurants with international cooking or local food on a high standard.
